If you want to try new and trendy hairstyles, then distressed locs/braids should be your next hairstyle.
I have seen distressed braids locs on some ladies a couple of years ago, but they never seem to catch my attention.
But, recently, I have marvelled at the latest looks these hairstyles are having and decided to share some cute pictures of them with you.
It does not only look beautiful ( we all know all other hairstyles look beautiful) but it is UNIQUE due to the curls and coils it has.
It is not an everyday hairstyle people plait but recently people have been craving the hairstyle due to the newfound love of locs hairstyles in 2024.
I have compiled different pictures of locs hairstyles that ladies can replicate to look top-notch and attractive this season.
This post features short distressed locs, bohemian distressed locs, distressed locs crochet, butterfly distressed locs, distressed soft locs, and distressed faux locs.
How to do distressed locs:
Care and Maintenance of Distressed Locs
Keep the oil on your hands and massage your scalp and make sure it is clean and moisturized. You can wash it but not like a “REAL WASH”.
Use mousse to refresh the looks of the locs.
Pros and Cons of Distressed Locs
Pros: It is a low-maintenance type of hairstyle
It is so natural looking and people might think you have kept your hair to have locs.
It is a protective hairstyle. It keeps the ends of the hair tucked away and minimizes manipulation.
It gives the ends of our hair a break from nasty weather conditions.
It is extremely versatile and can be styled in so many ways.
Some ladies I interviewed argued that it is lightweight. (Let us know your thoughts in the comment box)
Cons: If it is not installed well just like other locs, it won’t last long. This is because the installed locs will start to fall out.
If you are not a fan of staying in the hair salon for a long time, you might want to ignore this cute hairstyle.
Installing distressed locs is a long and tedious process, especially the long ones. (4-6 hours on an average basis). But I can tell you that it is worth it.
How to take down/take out distressed locs
How long do distressed locs last?
It can last up to 5 weeks and more if well-maintained. This is because it tends to look natural and beautiful
The hairstyles can last up to 2 months to 3 months and as it ages, it looks more beautiful.
You can see that you are getting value for your money due to the longevity of the hairstyle.
